BTS é forte concorrente nas categorias do VMA 2021

BTS é um dos destaques entre os indicados ao VMA de 2021. O grupo de k-pop concorre em 5 categorias: Música do Ano (“Dynamite”), Melhor Clipe de Pop (“Butter”), Melhor Clipe de K-Pop (“Butter”), Melhor Coreografia (“Butter”) e Melhor Edição (“Butter”).

As categorias ‘Melhor Coreografia’ e ‘Melhor Edição’ são escolhidas pela bancada do VMA. Isso significa que as outras 3 categorias estão abertas ao voto público. E, como aponta o jornalista Leonardo Torres, do portal Popline, se levarmos em consideração o histórico do BTS em premiações, o grupo é praticamente invencível quando se trata de escolha popular.

A fanbase do BTS é extremamente engajada e sempre busca enaltecer os ídolos através das premiações, então é difícil vencer os ARMYs quando se trata de voto popular.

Em 2020, o BTS ganhou todas as categorias que concorreu no VMA: Melhor Clipe Pop, Melhor Clipe de K-Pop, Melhor Coreografia e Melhor Grupo.

Além disso, vale ressaltar também que o grupo venceu a categoria de Melhor Clipe de K-Pop desde que ela foi criada, em 2019. Os MVs de “Boy With Luv” e “On” renderam troféus ao grupo nas edições anteriores. Agora, o septeto concorre com “Butter”, que fez sucesso estrondoso nos EUA. Com isso, parece que a vantagem do BTS sobre os concorrentes cresce ainda mais.

Justin Bieber recebeu 7 indicações, seguido por Megan Thee Stallion com seis indicações, e Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake e Giveon, cada uma recebendo cinco indicações.

Outros artistas que receberam indicações incluem Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, Bruno Mars, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles e Beyoncé.

Os indicados para Vídeo do Ano são Cardi B e “WAP” de Megan Thee Stallion, “ Save Your Tears ” de The Weeknd, Doja Cat e “Kiss Me More” de SZA, “Bad Habits, de Ed Sheeran, “MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)” de Lil Nas X, e “POPSTAR” de DJ Khaled e Drake, estrelado por Justin Bieber.

O VMA 2021 irá ao ar ao vivo do Barclays Center em Brooklyn, NY em 12 de setembro, em todas as plataformas digitais da MTV, bem como CMT, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, TV Land, MTV2, Pop, TV Land, VH1, Logo e The CW.
